THE IDEA FOR THIS BOOK has been a long time coming. Since April 2013, Dr. Imbeau has been a regular columnist for the Florence Morning News and SCNow, in a series called “the Citizen Columnist Corps,” with about twenty other Florentines over the years, resigning in late 2022.
In the early fall of 2019 Imbeau was starting to run out of column ideas, and during a lunch with Morning News Editor Donald Kausler, Imbeau mentioned his dilemma.
Kausler noted that the previous American cities articles had been popular—particularly the restaurant recommendations sections.
Now it’s time to put together the older travel articles, representing much of the world—well, at least North America, Europe, the Middle East, and South America. So many travels, so many places, but over a lengthy span of years, so many memories, and here are some to share with you.
I hope you enjoy the cities and the stories along the way.
The Questions of JOB

Job is almost universally accepted as part of the Hebrew scripture in the Old Testament and well accepted as an important part of Biblical Cannon in the Christian Age. For many thousands of years scholars, both secular and religious, have studied and written on Job; most have been impressed with its overarching themes of faithfulness to a monotheistic God, suffering among the innocent or the faithful and a demonstration of God’s sovereignty.

"WHAT [BOB NORRIS] received as a pastoral gift, he improved as a ministry skill by diligent application. He has few equals as a physician of souls. The wedding of great gifts to great humility is the rarest of combinations. We find just such a conjunction in that rare pastor-teacher in Bob. . . .

“This book is thus a primer of sorts. But this book also can guide any church’s pastors and elders to take action, to go visiting. This book is thus also an instruction book on visiting: how to do it and how to approach it.”

Reviews
"I've known Dr. Imbeau for years, I have immensely enjoyed our conversations and debates over lunch together, and although I thought I knew him well, this book uncovers many, many aspects of his life I had no clue about."
